1. Northwestern Mutual Childhood Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program

Scholarship Description:

Eligibility: Applicants must be pediatric cancer survivors, age 25 or under, who have been diagnosed and have had treatment for and survived cancer, or in current treatment. Open to high school seniors, high school graduates, or current undergraduate students. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

Submit: 500 – 1000 word essay based primarily on an interview you conduct with a woman currently working in or retired from a mathematical career.

AWARD: $5,000

2. Dr. Howard Hochman Zoological Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

Eligibility: Any high school or undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and plans to pursue a career in zoology or veterinary sciences may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay about your passion for animals, and how you plan to impact the animal world.

AWARD: $1,000

DEADLINE: 1st February, 2023

3. Sandy Jenkins Excellence In Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

Eligibility: High school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students are eligible to apply if they are pursuing a degree in early childhood education. Preference will be given to Alabama students.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on why you are passionate about early childhood education.

AWARD: $2,450

4. Sloane Stephens Doc & Glo Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

Eligibility: All high school seniors and current undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on which quality you most value in yourself, and how you believe this characteristic will help you in life.

AWARD: $1,300

5. Innovation In Education Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled as a high school or college student; have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada.

Submit: An essay describing the goal of an innovative project (this could be a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) you’ve designed that makes a difference in the lives of others. There is no minimum or maximum word/page count.

AWARD: $500
